This carnivorous plants develop  a prey trapping  passive mechanism for insects. This provide an extra amount of nitrogen and phosphorus  to the plant. Most of this plants live in poor or acidic soils.   


 Hybrid pitcher plant .  Nepenthes ampullaria x N. hookeriana



 Nepenthes rafflesiana.  (More than 25 cm long)


Young Nephentes gracilis before open the lid. Dayak people use the preserved water as a traditional medicine.
